Based on the heat transfer principle, a method of flow measurement which is suitable for the large diameter is described, and a set of experiment measurement system has been established on the improvement to the existing thermal flowmeter. Through controlling the heating power, the correspondence between temperature and flow is obtained under different heat flow density, and the correspondence between flow and heat transfer coefficient is analyzed. The result shows, when the heat flow density is constant, the temperature is gradually decreased with an increase in flow. The temperature is in response to the flow, the change of temperature is effectively corresponded to the change of flow. The model of experiment measurement system is established with the numerical simulation software, the temperature distribution of flow field is consistent with the experiment result.
