As one of the three strong acids, concentrated nitric acid is an important chemical raw material. With the stable and rapid growth of China's economy, the demand of concentrated nitric acid is prominent. At this situation, transport pressure becomes more serious. In order to meet the transport demand of concentrated nitric acid. Based on the original 60t-tankers, Xi'an Railway transportation equipment Co., Ltd prepares to research and develop 70t-tankers. By analyzing, the materials of the tanker should be changed. Because, if we continue to use aluminum, deformation of the tanker will be serious and a range of issues such as strength will be also apparent. In this situation, heavy load and deficiency of strength is the principal contradiction of the tanker. Taking into account the lightweight design requirements, concentrated nitric acid's strong corrosive to aluminum alloy, and pure aluminum has strong corrosion-resistant, so, the research have considered the influence of concentrated nitric acid's corrosion and strength of the tanker. By comparing the materials, ultimately, we determine the aluminum and aluminum-magnesium alloy laminate material as the material of the tanker。In this paper, S-N curve is established based on the result of fatigue test; the state of stress distribution was showed after the elastic-plastic finite element analyzed by ANSYS11.0. The change law of stress was also obtained by the analyzing data. As a basis of these, a finite element model of the tanker was established, center plate load, total side bearing load, liquid impact load and saturation vapor pressure load ware calculated. Finally, combining with AAR standard load spectrum of fatigue damage, the fatigue life of the tanker were estimated. The results showed that the laminate plate material meet the requirements of 70t tanker.
