Railway is a highly efficient transportation method which is low energy consumption and environment friendly. As the construction of China's high-speed railway and the increase of railway speed, the railway is considered as a powerful transportation system which can promote the sustainable development of China's national economy. Meanwhile, the railway transportation system inevitably impair urban and rural environment by noise, vibration, electromagnetic radiation etc., among which the moving train noise and vibration are particularly significant. The reduction of vibration and noise level is essential to the sustainable development of railway transportation, which maintains the harmony between natural environment and human beings.According to the theory of interruption of vibration transmission, it analyzes the mechanism and mathematical model of typical wave isolation barriers which includes trench isolation barrier, wall isolation barriers, Pipe isolation barriers and honeycomb wave isolation barrier. Based on the various theoretical models, it investigates the isolation mechanism of above-mentioned barriers. The corresponding mathematical model is established by formula transformation and normalization of empirical data. In addition, it evaluates the effect of isolation to the parameters of various isolation barriers by calculation examples. After the establishment of mathematical model, it conducts the reduced-scale experiments of the isolation trenches and pipe geometric isolation barriers. Based on the verification of reduced-scale experiments, it tests the verification of mathematical model.
