| Western Suburbs Reservoir is an internal reservoir of JingHuiQu irrigation area, using the terrain of the Loess Plateau ravine, which has been built and run in 2003. Its mission is that it storages the water in the reservoir through the canal system in the rich water period and it pumps water and supply to the canal system to add water quantity during the irrigation season. So far, the Western Suburbs Reservoir has two restriction factors to the control of irrigation volume of diversion. One is adjustment ability; another is pumping capacity. In order to achieve maximum utilization, this paper focuses on exploring the best regulating capacity of the reservoir and annual maximum regulation capability based on the analysis of the characteristics of Western Suburbs Reservoir, the requirements of integrated utilization and running status.This paper briefly describes the categories of the methods of reservoir operation, systematically expounds the research status and development of reservoir optimized operation home and aboard and recalls some frequently-used methods of optimized operation of reservoir. Genetic Algorithm is widely used in the reservoir (groups) optimization. While depend on the particularity of the Western Suburbs Reservoir, it is the first time to use this technique applied in this kind of reservoir adjustment computation. This research has a great practical significance for the Western Suburbs of Reservoir and Genetic Algorithms.Basing on the existing assignment scheme and engineering status of Jinghuiqu irrigation area, in order to get the maximum irrigation quantity for this irrigation area, through the analysis and calculation of the amount of water diversion, water requirement, abandoner water of irrigation system and abstraction water of Western Suburbs Reservoir, this paper takes the least deficit of irrigation water in the irrigation area as the target, simulated and calculated for the Western Suburbs Reservoir by the Genetic Algorithm.All GA calculation in this paper is achieved by VisualBasic 6.0, which is an object-oriented and visual programming language that can be correlated to database easily. It is an effective realization tool for the simulation of a number of complex problems such as reservoir operation.Applying to the GA, this paper calculates the optimal dispatch for the Western Suburbs Reservoir in term of monthly and annual regulation respectively. The results show that the monthly calculation is suitable for this kind reservoir and its result is more desirable. Through drawing the optimal operation chart for the reservoir, this paper chooses 3385.9763×10~4m~3 as the reasonable capacity of the Western Suburbs Reservoir. Comparing to the conventional algorithm, there will be more 1161.3399×10~4m~3 water to be supplied to the irrigation area every year. |
