| Owing to structure aging, vehicle weight increasing, lack of maintaining and unfavorable circumstance, there exist inevitable structural defects in some existing bridges. Thus the reliability assessment and strengthening technologies for existing bridges is becoming more and more important. In this thesis, the current situation and the development of assessment theories and applied methods at home and abroad for existing bridges are discussed. The definition and content of assessment for the existing bridge are presented, and the differences between the assessment and the design of bridge structures are also detailedly presented. Commonly used methods for existing bridge assessment are described in detail. The content and advantages or disadvantages of these methods for existing bridge assessment are summarized. The thesis takes the JinJiang Bridge as a project example, which is a three-span brick arch bridge of 60 years old. The bridge is analyzed and assessed according to the results of general inspection to the bridge, and some conclusions and advices are given. A 3D model including bridge and tunnels as a whole is established using ANSYS 10.0, which is a large general-purpose finite element software. From the two situations of the bases are reinforced or not, the displacement and stress of the bridge are studied and compared which are caused because of the shield tunnel construction of Chengdu. |
