The permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) has come to the direct drive system developers' attention for their merits such as low volume, high power factor, high efficiency and simple maintenance. Rotor-flux-field-oriented vector control and direct torque control (DTC) system have been researched, and traction features of electric vehicle has been simulated by DTC method with simple structure and fast dynamic response in this paper.Based on the control strategy of PMSM in the drive system, the thesis researches the design method and control strategy in detail. The constitute of PMSM is introduced, and the mathematics mode has been established. The theory of rotor-flux-field-oriented vector control and DTC of PMSM has been analyzed. On the basis of principle analysis, the simulation systems of PMSM are established by Matlab/Simulink.Traction features of electric vehicle are described, simulation system in electric vehicle application is established, a constant speed controller based on double-hysteretic band adjustment is designed. Through the smoothly switching strategy, the impulsions of torque and flux are avoided during the switching process. And the traction features are reappeared based on DTC of PMSM.According to the analysis of the theory and simulation, a two-level lab platform is established, the hardware and control circuits are introduced in detail, and the control system using TMS320LF2407 and TMS320VC33 is set up, the software flowchart of PMSM control is designed, and the DTC scheme of PMSM is proved by experimental results.
