Saving energy and reducing losses are always important topic, especially under the present energy scarce environment. Locomotive is not only the traction power of railway transportation, but also a large energy consumption user. The total energy consumption of locomotives is more than half of the operating expenses. Lots of energy is wasted in operation of locomotive drivers, so much more efforts can be implemented in energy saving. At present, ability of operation and controlling in railway transportation needs to be improved, for example traffic command by ground signal, manually driving, low mean velocity, bad security, train delay and so on. So it is of the great significance in researching energy saving train control. Developing of highly automatic train operation software based on traction calculation must improve labor efficiency and be of realistic significance. In this thesis, firstly through the theory of traction calculation, a simulation model of manual driving is set up in order to research energy saving train control. Secondly, based on this model and combined with the strategies of energy saving optimizing in and abroad, dynamic adjustment act on target speed is proposed and multi-particle train operation simulation system is developed based on the platform of WINDOWS 2003, using Visual C + +. Net 2005 as a development tool and Microsoft Access 2003 as background database. This system is achieved in manual driving, time saving running and energy saving train control. Lastly, taking advantage of the actual line condition, the simulation system is experimental studied, and according to main technical economic indicators in national rail transportation, the accuracy of energy saving train control is demonstrated, at the same time the effectiveness of the simulation system is also verified.
