Through a series of tests such as filed plane loading test, static cone penetration test, standard penetration test, lateral pressure meter test, standard indoor consolidation test, triaxial compression test and field settlement observation that can get the deformation behavior of settlement on unsaturated subsoil between Qingdao and Jinan special passenger train. Through the research of settlement deformation law we can obtain the settlement characteristics of subsoil, then predict the deformation of subsoil. Comparative analysis the calculation results and the measured results are given in this paper, the results are verified rationality and reliability. Some results can be generalized as followings:(1) Using the indoor consolidation test, get the stress - strain relationship. through GDS triaxial compression test analysis the stress - time relationship.(2) Through a series of field tests such as static cone penetration test, standard penetration test, filed plane loading test, lateral pressure meter test, the engineering geological characteristics and basic physical-mechanical characteristics are tested.(3) According to the field settlement observation results, analysis the law of long term foundation settlement by embankment load and forecast the final settlement of foundation.(4) Using the tangent modulus method calculate the nonlinear subsidence of foundation basis on the field test results and considered the stress level. The calculated results are near the actual. This method of calculating is valued to apply.(5) Gain the unsaturated subsoil deformation characteristics of the settlement laws through the actual test results and provide the basis and reference for design and construction of the structure on such subsoil.
