The urbanization rate of china is rather high by now.Acording to the seventh report called 'Coordination overall development of urban socioeconomic' which belongs to the series reports named 'The economic and social development recalls from 16th to 17th congress 'released by national statistics department,china has 661 cities,577 minions citizens which is 43.9 percents of the Chinese population.Because of the accelerating urbanization process, the city ground is more and more crowded. Since the large-scale construction of urban metro and urban passage, numerous tunnels will be constructed in the city and suburb. However, both variety municipal underground pipelines and buildings are unfavorable factors for urban tunnel construction, making for more and more small radius tunnels be constructed, the radius of the tunnel becomes smaller and smaller.In the recent, there is nearly no research about small radius and large section runnel inside the county. That is very bad for the small radius and large section tunnel construction.This thesis is background of Xiamen international tour shipside small radius and large section tunnel, making a systematic research about construction technology of small radius and large section tunnel, emphasis is geometry and mechanics characteristic.From the research, we preliminary realize the rules of geometry and mechanics characteristic.Besides, this thesis also researches the excavation technology which is used in small radius and large section tunnel, analyses the adaptability of shield method and milling digging method used for small radius and large section tunnel.Parts of the conclusion are used to guide the construction practice,service effection is prominent.
