Vane-type compressors have a very wide range of applications because of small size, light weight and good balance, etc. At present, it is the one of the main-types of automobile air conditioning compressor. However, low mechanical efficiency and shorter life-span is the disadvantages of the traditional vane-type automobile air conditioning compressor in long-term time. The main reason is that larger relative speed and contact force consist in the main moving pair of the compressor such as vane and cylinder,vane and end-plates,rotor and end-plates. It engenders larger friction loss and part-wearing. This is the difficult problem of the traditional vane-type automobile air conditioning compressor which has not been resolved.This paper introduces a new type of automobile air conditioning compressor which has parallel-move rotor. The idea is to apple the parallel-moving structure of scroll compressor to traditional vane-type compressor, so the rotor and vanes of parallel-moving rotor compressor rotate around its own rotation axis following the working method of parallel move. Therefore, this parallel move structure changes the working method of traditional vane-type automobile air conditioning compressor, and it can obtain low-friction effect. The important points of parallel-moving rotor compressor can achieve low friction and wear is as follows: 1) Substantially reduce the speed occurring in the compressor's main moving parts, such as the speed of rotot relative to the vane, the speed of rotor relative to the end-plates; 2) Substantially reduce the contact force engender between vane and rotor. 3) Substantially reduce the sliding distance of vane relative to cylinder. This is the contribution and the feature of this paper.The chief research of this paper is as follow:1. First, parallel move rotor compressor has been designed, including overall design,intake system design,exhaust system design,lubrication system design and main parts design. Design considerations and examples were given, and main design points of the parallel-moving device was discussed.2. Secondly, this paper build kinematic model of parallel move rotor compressor, and deduce the calculation fomulas of relative displacement and speed which occurred in the compressor's main moving parts such as vane to cylinder,vane to rotor,rotor to the end-plates. After that, the reason of parallel-moving rotor compressor has lower friction loss was been theoretically discussed.3. Finaly, a dynamics model was built based on Adams multi-rigid software, and a dynamics simulation was done. After comparing contact force and friction loss of main moving parts of the parallel-moving rotor compressor with the traditional vane-type compressor, the result prove the advantages of p parallel-moving rotor compressor.
