The problem of energy restricts the development of national economy due to the large number of population and the lack of resources. In order to realize the continuous, rapid and healthy development, the pattern of economic development must be changed from the extensive development to the intensive development. In China, the energy saving is a long-term strategy of the national economy development. So far, the lighting energy consumption takes a large part of the whole energy consumption, so the control of lighting energy saving is very important.The significance and the present study status of the lighting energy saving control are developed at first. Then, the study content and the technical line are established based on investigation and versus analysis. After lamps and lanterns in common use being analyzed, two types of typical electric light sources are selected to get the characteristic curve between voltage and illuminance by use of the voltage regulation and the illuminance detection. Furthermore, a new method named Thyristor Stepped Voltage Regulation Method (TSVRM) is proposed on the basis of the contrastive analysis on voltage regulation and illuminance adjustment of the lighting energy saving controller. The TSVRM can implement composite control of alternating voltage. Next, both hardware and software architectures of the lighting energy saving control system are designed and implemented based on the TSVRM, and fuzzy control is introduced into the system. The hardware system contains zero crossing testing circuit, thyristor voltage regulation combinational circuit, voltage testing circuit and peripheral control circuits of SCM P89LPC935 and SCM 89S51. The software system includes the system control modules, the fuzzy control module, the communication module, the man machine interface module and so on.At last, the proposed energy saving method is simulated. The results show that the output voltage waveform is criterion, and that the effect of voltage regulation reaches the requirement of design.
