The Study On Traffic Detectors Distribution Of Freeway

The question about traffic detectors distribution is how to lay detector on the freeway, so as to get comprehensive and useful traffic data that is provided with Intelligent Transportation System. At present there is no mature theory about traffic detector distribution, many people distributed the traffic detector according to experiences. So it is important meaning to study the distribution of traffic detector.This thesis suggested freeway traffic detectors distribution scheme based on traffic incident detection target and based on traffic induction target from application demand. Research based on traffic incident detection target had analyzed the traffic detectors distribution schemes respectively from theory and practice, especially the scheme from practice, used the Vissim3.60 simulation tool to produce simulation data after traffic incident, and brought simulation data into the incident detection algorithm to confirm detector's interval with better incident detection result and lower detectors cost combining the quality of the evaluation index result of the algorithm and the cost of detectors. It provides one kind of the new train of thought for this field research in the homeland .Hope that it can give the project practice guiding sense. Research based on traffic induction target had suggested the traffic detectors distribution scheme from practice, also used the Vissim3.60 simulation tool to produce simulation data, and brought simulation data into predicting algorithm of traffic volume, finally chose the rational detector's interval according to the quality of the evaluation index result of the algorithm.
