PPV solar cell has attracted a lot attention in the future solar cells research, with its advantages that widespread of raw materials, ease of preparation and purification, flexible, light weight, according to require to carry on chemical modification and so on, it also the hope for reducing costs of solar cells and eventually replacing conventional energy sources. PPV may possibly become the dominant material of future solar cells. At present, PPV solar cell research is at an initial stage, although the laboratory has already prepared PPV solar cell, But but the solubility problem, matching the solar spectrum of PPV are the hot spot ,which made the majority of researchers pay more attention to that. In this paper, around PPV solubility and solar spectrum matching problems, from the synthesis and modification of PPV and its derivatives, the impact of synthesis process conditions, the modified methods on yield, solubility and energy gap of PPV and its derivatives were studied.Better solubility PMOBOPV and PDBOPV are prepared by dehydrochlorination process in the PPV of two and five to be replaced, Which made PPV can be directly spin-coating and simplify the preparation of solar cell materials technology. The first time,graft 4-hydroxycou-marin to symmetric and asymmetric PPV derivatives in this paper. UV-Vis spectra exhibit that the optical absorption is raised in the visible region followed by a red shift from 468nm to 487nm and 475nm to 490nm. Carried out a study of the composite technology and composite characteristics through directly blending the PPV with inorganic semiconductor nanoparticles. Compare the Eg value of pure PDBOPV, PDBOPV/ TiO2 and PDBOPV/ZnO nanocomposites. The results indicate that the Eg value is decreased from 2.6993 to 2.4893 and 2.4794, improved the utilization efficiency of sunlight. In addition,carried out the research on the preparation and performance of PPVs/PANI composite materials using the method of blending. This is the first time blend polyaniline by chemical oxidizing process with PPV derivatives. Some result have beenacquired, which the peak red-shift after blending and conductivity improved obviously in the case of undoped.The research content of this paper build certain foundation for synthesizing and modifying of PPV kind of materials, as well as preparing PPV kind of solar cell devices, hoping can have a benefit for the development of polymer solar cells.
