Crawler crane is one of the indispensable equipments and weightily type in construction at hoist industry. As a main bearing weight structure of the crawler crane, the design and manufacture quality for track rollers and track plates have important influence to the safety of the whole machine. Recently, analogy and copy mechods which depend on experierce are used to design track rollers and track plates because the research on these areas are empty in our country. Therefore, the research to the design method and optimization design are very necessary and of great practical significance.Based on the project of crawler crane series, cooperating with Aoqi Shandong Heavy Machinery Co. LTD., in order to guiding practice, researching finite element based design method for track rollers of greate tonnage crawler crane and track plate's section optimization.(1) The relationship between pressure and track rollers' structure dimensions based on studying contact mechanics and the behavior of contact in ANSYS software are studied. A design method which uses von Mises stress as gist is proposed.(2) The SIMP method used in topology optimization and parameters related to the effect of result of topology optimization are studied and the finite element model of track plate is built. In order to provide theory support, the mathematic model is built based on the equal intensity theory and the currency expressions are deduced.(3) For the purpose of incorporate design, a secondary development method is used to ANSYS software through Visual Basic for track rollers and a parametric design method of track plate which section is variable is researched and a program which is practical reliable and all-purpose is designed.The design technology proposed in this dissertation is applied in the subject which is developed by Dalian construction machinery institute and Aoqi Shandong heavy machinery.Now, this crane is manufactured and used. A theoretical foundation is proposed for the design to the crawler crane.
