At present, most wind effect analysis on bridges needs the help of wind tunnel test. With the development of CFD techniques, it becomes more and more popular to use CFD doing simulation and analysis on bridge structure, and the development step is fast. The theoretical knowledge in CFD field has been already in maturity, and there has also been software on CFD, which show more advantages on liquid fluid. However, some bridge engineers endeavored to use fluid software doing analysis on bridges in wind field, and have made some desirable research results. This dissertation, using those methods in agree, makes numerical study in self-excited aerodynamic forces of bridge deck. The dissertation uses FLUENT doing numerical study. It introduces the elementary theory on CFD and the related principles applied in FLUET, it tries to solve problems pithy and efficient. Meanwhile, it gives clear statement from building CFD model to the process of doing calculation (including dealing with the numerical results), and the essence of both Theodorsen self-excited aerodynamic forces theory and Scanlan aerodynamic derivatives theory in bridge wind engineering. The main part of this dissertation, applying the above theories, makes study on vibration amplitude effect to the precision of aerodynamic derivatives and the nonlinear of self-excited aerodynamic forces. Besides, using the same theories, makes numerical study on bridge deck, does the same analysis and draws the related results. Here it points the problems existed in numerical simulation on wind effect on bridges, and shows the idea that this technique is of value and has positive prospects.
