Reticulated shell-string structure is a new type of space structure. Through introducing prestress into reticulated shell structure, the stress performance of reticulated shell-string structure is effectively improved. The reticulated shell-string structure system is very complicated. Its construction process is commonly long and system conversion is intricate. The structure shape,sustain boundary and load mode of shell structure is changing with the impelling of the construction process. Whereas construction simulation and construction monitoring can offer a referenced criterion, then security and quality problem can be avoided effectually. So, this paper, basing on the secondary stadium of Wuhan Sports Center, a representation large welded hollow spherical joint that under complex stress was studied and systematic analysis using theory and experiments.Firstly, basing on the F.E.M, considering the geometric nonlinearities and material nonlinearities, the welded hollow spherical joint was analysis by finite element analysis software ANSYS. This model used the element of shell 143 in the ANSYS. The experiments programs of the joints were designed and the full-scale experimental research on large welded hollow spherical joint was carried out in order to get the stress condition of the key parts in the joints and get the bearing-capacity ofthe joints.Secondly, the whole construction process and the complete status of the largespan reticulated shell-string structure were monitored to educe the variation of stress of member bars during the construction process. The result of monitoring was compared with that of simulations' to provide design and construction with improved advicesThe out come of research of this thesis: the model of calculation for large span reticulated shell-string structure is reasonable; the monitor measures is feasible, and it can offer guidance and references to the construction of similar project.
