China's large-scale using of electrified railway makes it a key problem that the harmonic content of the electrified railway load is particularly high. Nowadays, 3-orders single tunable filters are used in most traction substations in our country, and the method of filtering effect is far from meeting the requirements. APF will be able to overcome the power of passive filter, as a result, by filtering properties of the system parameters, such as the possible shortcomings of the harmonic amplification effectively harmonic suppression. However, due to the higher costs of the active power filter, the hybrid power filter will be a better program which combined the active power filter and the passive power filter to management harmonic pollution of the electrified railway.The article discussed the traction substation hybrid power filter to install at the best location, the structure, the APF passive power filter in the series after the parallel bus on a fixed pose a harmonic filter for slip compensation program was discussed in an attempt to passive and active power filter as a power filter. The hardware and software of the series-parallel hybrid power filter are designed.
