With the rapid development of the economy and gradual increase in population, the construction land is decreasing day by day. In order to make full use of the land, large areas of miscellaneous fill foundation, which cannot be used directly because of its high compressibility and low ground bearing capacity, always needs reinforcing. There are many different methods for its foundation treatment. And different methods will achieve different effects, produce different economic benefits and cost different time. Therefore, the study on the treatment techniques of miscellaneous fill foundation is of great practical significance to urban construction.Regarding the methods currently and commonly used in treatment of miscellaneous fill foundation, this thesis discusses the relevant mechanisms of reinforce and scopes of application. In combination with the entity project of the miscellaneous fill foundation treatment of construction project ground of Xiang Dian (Hunan) Bearing Limited Company, it studies the construction technologies and quality-control standards of dynamic compaction and cushion, and then puts forward reasonable and practical construction technologies and quality-control parameters for adopting this technique to treat miscellaneous fill foundation. Besides it makes an intensive study of the relationship between characteristic value of ground bearing capacity and cushion thickness. Characteristic value of ground bearing capacity is related to cushion thickness. There is a peak in characteristic value of ground bearing capacity. Before reaching the peak, characteristic value of ground bearing capacity is increases along with cushion thickness; after reaching the peak, characteristic value of ground bearing capacity is decreases along with cushion thickness. The result of the test shows characteristic value of ground bearing capacity is obviously improved by adopting the techniques of both dynamic compaction and cushion rather than only one of them. Finally, it conducts simulation analysis by using ANSYS software, studying the effect of cushion thickness on foundation subsidence, characteristic value of ground bearing capacity and the rules for stress distribution in soil. The analysis result of numerical simulation, compared with the result of static load test, gets a satisfactory result. The major conclusion drawn from this research can be beneficial to the similar design and the construction quality control of the miscellaneous fill foundation.
