Now, with the energy sources consumption increasing daily and the environment empoison being serious gradually, wind power, as renewable, no pollution energy source, is paid great attention by more and more countries. The technology also becomes research hot spot of many country's scholars. It is important to develop a wind turbine simulator (WTS) in the lab without natural wind resource and actual wind turbines when studying technologies in wind energy conversion systems. It can enhance the research and design quality, and save fund.Because of the research on WTS is very absent, this paper deeply study it and has developed a kind of wind turbine simulator based on the analysis of present WTS, and implemented a WTS in lab. The paper can be divided into a few parts which can be seen as follows:Firstly, a survey about the research background and present status is presented. Pointing out it is necessary to research WTS, because of the development and experiment need of electricity generation; Analyzing the advantage and disadvantage of the present WTS, emphasis on the motors, theories and effect of the WTS.Secondly, according to the characters of the presented WTSs, the lab condition and the theory of the wind turbine operation, I build the model of the fixed propeller pitch angle wind turbine, draw up simple and effective torque-rotor speed control plan, and simulate the system with MATLAB.On the basis of the simulation, I built a WTS in the lab.The thesis shows the experimental process and result, the result prove the WTS's character is same as the real wind turbine.
