The requirement for bridge's structural behavior in service are become higherly, with the development of social economics, rapid incresement in highway traffic volumns and vehicle loads. Because many bridges are getting older and structural damnification from traffic disasters occur frequently, original design standard of these roads were low, the overload phenomenon very serious, the bridge safety are threatened. Under these cases, it's palys an important role that the bridges are checked and assess and nessary reforcement and maintaince in order to ensure the function and safe transportation.Based on the investigation of great number references, a two-way curved arch bridge, lack of original design data, is presented in detail in the paper. In the basis of checking data for the geometric and mechanical properties of members in the bidge, the structural analysis models in Finite Element Method are established, with the actural diseases distribution in members into account, the original design parameters are backly analyzed, the causes which leads to the real disasters in the bridge are researched, by the FEM software MIDAS/civil, and the capacity of main members are assessed, all of these calaulating results offer the effective data for the assessment of this kind of bridges in the paper. Finally, the refocement design schemes and their construction are presented and discussed, which have been proved by the practice.
