In this paper, the Cylinder Linear Induction Motor (C-LIM) be used as the actuating mechanism of the high-voltage circuit breaker is optimization design, for getting the larger start thrust and the smaller volume, meantime, enhancing the reliability and practicability of the C-LIM.Aiming at above-mentioned problems, with the dynamic property and simulation results of the original design motor, the multi-objective optimization design is put forward. Based on the electromagnetism of the nonmagnetic secondary of C-LIM, the motor multi-objective optimization design is realized with the Particle Swarm Optimization.Firstly, this paper presents the general situation and the development trend on motor optimization design. The study present situation of linear motor and the principle of C-LIM are introduced. Secondly, the equivalent circuit and the parameters of C-LIM are reckoned. Meanwhile, the test of no-load dynamic property and the simulation of primary design motor are executed. Thirdly, this paper introduces the principle of PSO and analyzes the convergence of criterion PSO. Then, the multi-objective optimization method is studied. Finally, based on the structure and performance of actuating mechanism, the multi-objective optimization mathematical model of PSO is established and the program of C-LIM multi-objective optimization design is finished with MATLAB. At the same time, the Graphical User Interface (GUI) is edited. The optimization results show the multi-objective optimization design is better than single-objective optimization design. Finally, through the simulation of closing and opening of the high-voltage circuit breaker, the results confirm the structure and dynamic performance of motor are increased. Furthermore, the results provide a theoretical principle for C-LIM actuating mechanism.
