The Hydropower-Station grounding gaid can provide a reference ground for various electric devices within the Hydropower-Station. During a fault of an electric power system, the failure current drains quickly to the ground. The maximum ground potential rise can be controlled to ensure adequate safety for people and to protect the installation. Therefore, an effective grounding grid is very important for the safe operation of the electric power system.This paper will address the grounding system of Liaofang hydropower-station design. Boundary element method from the perspective of ground system through the establishment of a mathematical model of the grounding system of Liaofang hydropower-station analysis and research, try to solve the engineering problems encountered in the grounding resistance.In this paper, in order to lower overall hydropower station (high soil resistivity area station) plays a key role in grounding resistance of plant and dam tail water dam surface grounding grid as the research object, namely, the level of two soils from the three-tier model and the vertical soil starting model, according to the characteristics of Liaofang hydropower, combined with the actual situation in the corresponding model a certain degree of simplification. Based on the engineering needs of the plant ground grid, this paper has calculated the grounding resistance at different tail-water level, different temperatures and different layout.
