As the requirements of traveling environment and trip condition become higher and higher, the railway is undergoing a profound "Traffic Revolution". Undoubtedly, EMUs (Electric Multiple Units) plays an important role of new force in the high-speed railway age, and their safety protection is even more indispensable. As an important competent for ensuring the train operation safety, high-performance fire smoke alarm system can reduce the fire accident greatly and drop the fire loss effectively. Unfortunately, the development of high-speed railway started late in China, the fire smoke alarm system assembled on operating EMUs is mostly imported from abroad at present. Based on the analysis and absorption of the advanced alarm system imported from abroad, a low cost and low power intelligent fire smoke alarm system, according to the cooperative unit's request, is developed independently in the paper, and breaks the foreign monopoly position in this field.Based on the comprehensive analysis of occurrence regularity of fire and principle of photoelectric smoke detection, a solution of node fire alarm subsystem based on smoke-heat compound detection technology and distributed intelligent control technology, is proposed in the paper. Using Microchip's PIC16F873A hardware development platform, a smoke concentration and ambient temperature collection circuit is designed, and the detector built-in intelligent fire detection algorithm can directly output the Alarm/Normal judgment. The region fire alarm and control device takes SCM PIC16F630 as the core, comprehensively manages six detectors' state information, raises the sound and light alarm warning in time, and reports node summarizing Alarm/Normal information to TCMS(Trainset Control and Management System) by VCU(Vehicle Control Unit).As a qualified industrial product, this paper not only completes the above function design, but also applies various hardware/software anti-interference and redundant technologies comprehensively, ensures the safety and reliability of system operation. The function of system self-check and diagnosis is also designed and implemented, and it can give much convenience for user to locate fault position quickly and accurately. Therefore the paper can also give some reference and assistance for other similar embedded product development.The intelligent fire smoke alarm system designed in the paper, debugs and tests not only in lab but also on train for four times, and the final result indicates that the product accords with the requirement of cooperation completely and realizes the localization of fire alarm system on EMUs successfully.
