Energy-saving and environmental protection need to promote the development of electric vehicles. And the development of electric vehicles call for a new air-conditioning compressor. To develop a new type air conditioning compressor for all-electric vehicle ,can achieve environmental protection, energy conservation, improving vehicle performance. According to performance requirements of air conditioning compressor for all-electric vehicle, use the brushless direct current motor (BLDCM) as air conditioning compressor.Firstly, basing on the characteristics of BLDCM for air conditioning of all-electric vehicle, the principle of electromagnetic design is summarized. Through multi-plan comparison, the pole number, slot number, rotor structure , winding configuration are put forward.Secondly, basing on Visual Basic 6.0, permanent magnet brushless direct current motor electromagnetic design program is designed .And getting the preliminary design of the motor by it. And then analyzed the static magnetic field through the finite element analysis(FEA), utilized Ansoft maxwell .The main parameters of magnetic circuit method are checked and modified. Basing on field-circuit coupling model, transient field are analyzed. Final the motor design are determined except to optimize cogging torque.At last, study of the impact of motor design parameters on the cogging torque .And the cogging torque is optimized by taguchi method. Final design of BLDCM for air conditioning of all-electric vehicle are determined.
