Continuous growing fuel cost and attaching importance to environmental protection, are forcing electric vehicles and electric bicycle enter into people's daily life. Battery is regarded as the energy storage uint of electric vehicles, which decides directly its performance index and using effects. At present, lead-acid battery which is widely accepted rechargeable battery, constrained to technological limitation, mainly adopted traditional charging methods such constant current charging or 3-stage charging or pulse charging, these methods lead to damage and energy consumming. Therefore, a new technology that improves efficiency and prolongs the battery life, have become the hot issue of many fields.This paper based on the theoretical analysis of existing charging method, puts forward a new concept that the effective control battery on charging electric current, in order to achieve the best condition, is the key to improving battery charging method. According to J.A.M's theories of the optimum charging battery and charging current capacity and charged state and the relationship between the value of SOC battery voltage variation, then apply the fuzzy neural network technology basis of battery voltage variation and charged status, value the SOC of optimum charging current moment, using PID control algorithm is controlled charging system of charging electric current, make its optimal charging electric current. In terms of hardware design, adopting DSP TMS320F2407, developing the chip rapid and efficient features and mighty functions of logic operation, which cause the control process is more flexible, swift and intelligent.The experimental results show that the effect is obvious, by concluding and analyzing a lot of experimental data. Comparing with the traditional method of three-stage chargers, the charge efficiency increases by 77.7% to 86.7%, the battery electrolyte's gas evolution volume reduces 68.8%.Meanwhile, the test proved that using new charging method in this paper can effectively improve the situation of positive plate's corrosion.
