The process of multi-point fuel dispersal was studied by combining experiment with simulation. The main research contents were as follows. The background and research status of the formation of fuel cloud and its detonation characteristics were summarized. The influence factors of multi-point fuel dispersal were analyzed. The spatial distribution of fuel concentration in the dispersal process was simulated by using MATLAB. And then, the best condition of ignition was determined on the basis of simulation. Based on a liquid fuel, the dispersal process and detonation parameters were studied by using some test methods.The reliable dispersal condition was obtained by testing and analyzing whether there was fire in the process, which provided the basis for the explosion tests in air. The concentration of fuel dispersal was simulated by MATLAB. The influence rules of a few factors were analyzed. The results showed that the concentration of multi-point fuel dispersal was fit for normal distribution. The center's concentration was higher than the surrounding. Under the same condition, the concentration went higher as the increase of dispersal points or the amount of fuel.The overpressure and temperature distribution were obtained by the explosion tests in air. The overpressure in the cloud zone was much higher than that in shock wave zone. The overpressure decreased rapidly as the relative distance going up, while overpressure decreased slowly in the shock wave zone. The highest temperature of fireball reached to 1809.5℃with the results of infrared thermography.
