As the key-ligament between the customer and the generation & transmission system, distribution system plays an important role in ensuring the electrical supply reliability. Power supply capacity of distribution network directly affects the reliability. The scientific evaluation of power supply capability has enormous social and economical significance.Firstly, based on the traditional definition of transmission capacity, defined the concept of supply capability from the two angles of main transformer N-1 and line N-1. Proposed the power supply capability calculating method based on the interconnections among main transformers. This method is easy to analyze bottlenecks in distribution system. Meanwhile, a set of power supply capability evaluation index system was put forward, such as maximum load rate and maximum power supply capability.Secondly, from the view of optimal planning, the paper makes thorough study of parallel and split operation of main transformer, connection modes of distribution network, and the optimal transfer capability. A series of recommendations was obtained.Finally, take an example, calculated the power supply capability and promoting space, presented suggestions for Transformation and planning.
