Digital simulation becomes an important method for power system planning, operation and scheduling because of the particularity of power system that it's impossible to study the power system characteristics through frequent experiments. Load model has critical influence on dynamic simulation of power system is proved by a large number of examples and researches. Load model has direct impact on the simulation results and the decisions based on these results. Nowadays, load modeling is based on fundamental positive sequence voltage and power in engineering practice currently, which doesn't take the effects of negative sequence component into account. In order to improve the utilization of measurement data and accuracy of identification, load modeling via instantaneous data was proposed in this paper and verified with simulation and measurement data. Additionally, optimization methods such as improved hybrid genetic algorithm and improved differential evolution were also studied. Improved differential evolution algorithm was proved to have good performance.
