With the increased capacity of wind power integration, wind farms have great impact on system stability. More emphasis should be laid to the effect of wind power integration on small signal stability.Small signal stability mathematical models regarding every part of DFIG are deduced, based on which the whole small signal stability model of DFIG is established. Wind farms and real power system are modeled in DIgSILENT/Power Factory. Different operating scenarios and different generation load under the same operating mode are analyzed. With respect to the situation that wind farms of DFIG type deteriorate system damping involved in this thesis, a stability control model of DFIG is designed to participate in system damping control, which can significantly accelerate the decay of system oscillations. The designed model is validated through eigenvalue analysis and time-domain simulations in a two-area simple system.
