Soil nailing technique is characterized by simple construction process, small disturbance to soil, and excavation and support operations simultaneously. So it is a reliable, fast and easy approach and has been widely applied in slope and deep foundation engineering through the world.Based on the project of the loess slope locating at the exit of Lujiaya tunnel, the horizontal displacement of the slope and the axial force of nails were monitered using inclinometer and stress meter of soil nails buried in the slope. The results showed that:(1) The horizontal displacement of the slope varied from region to region with the excavation of slope.(2) The horizontal displacement of the slope increased gradually and reached to the maximum after a period of time of excavation. Then, it kept invariable.(3) The stress on the measure points of each soil nail increased significantly with the increase of excavated depth, and the location where the maximum of stress appeared migrated gradually from the slope surface to the inside.Numerical simulation analysis obtained the same conclusion as above.
