The earthquake ground shaking caused by the earthquake will cause serious damage to the the structure and the internal equipment. When the ground motion spreads to the structure,the acceleration,velocity and displacement will be magnified in most cases. Then the resulting stress and displacement may be beyond the capacity of the structure. The ground motion and its amplification factors are also affected by many factors.So it is the key poinnt to study these factors on the response of the structure for ensuring seismic designe's safety and economy.As scientists now widely used calculation tool,Matlab has its lagest advantage of extremely rich library and the toolbox which can meet the subject requirements.We can completethe the most complex calculations with the least statement.This paper study the dynamic characteristics of seismic waves on the basis of MAT-LAB,which shows that the random vibrations of seismic waves is approximately the normal distribution in the probability. Identify the scope of the wave's high-frequency concentration with seismic wave power spectral density.For the correlation of seismic waves, find the seismic wave data contained in the cycle by solving the self-correlation procedure. Determine the correlation between different seismic waves by cross correlation. Use the wave function Daubechies (dbN) provided by MATLAB to conduct seismic wavelet decomposition,which can provide the basis for intercepting certain period of the waves for the pseudo-dynamic test.For comparing the seismic response of various numerical methods, MATLAB is used to be programmed, and to analyze the errors. Duhamel integral is close to the exact value of the results and of the most stable for the time domain analysis method. In the frequency domain analysis method, Laplace transform has high precision. But it is intended as calculated acceleration response spectrum, when the damping ratio increases, the error has become large.Finally,I design the software of acceleration response spectrum which can be independently wih the Graphical User Interfaces in MATLAB.It can be better for human-computer interaction and repeated runs.
