Rectangular concrete-filled tubular composite structures has been researched and applied in civil engineering increasingly in recent years. The traditional connections types of concrete-filled square tubular column to steel beam mainly include external diaphragms and internal diaphragms in steel tube column, joint patterns are so singleness, construction is complex. Through column bolted end plate beam-to-column connections (BPJ) is a new type of joint pattern which is easy to construction. In this paper, based on the results of precious studies, the mechanical properties of bolts-end plate connection for concrete-filled tubular frame (SPF) and BPJ connection was researched. The main works and conclusions are listed as follows:1. Based on specification and according to engineering practice, the test and calculation model SPF frame was desegned, the test results show that SPF frame has good ductility and energy dissipation;2. The SPF frame under monotonic load and cyclic load was studied by using the method of three-dimensional modeling of solid structures. The nonlinear finite element analysis involving geometric, material and contact nonlinearities. The results show that SPF frame has good ductility and energy dissipation, and the BPJ connection shows good mechanical properties. The results from nonlinear finite element analysis match the test results very well;3. Combination of test and finite element analysis results, the failure modes of framework was studied, the reasonable linear stiffiness ratio of beam to column was proposed;4. The influences of axial load ratios, the concrete strength, the pre-tensioning force of high strength bolts, the thickNess of end-plate were studied. The results shows that the axial load ratios and the strength of concrete have great influence on the frame, but the decrease pre-tensioning force of high strength bolts and thickNess of end-plate have little influence.
