As the significant programming planed by the Ministry of Communication that to fulfill the whole of expressway system with a mileage of 4.3 till 2020 and the practice of western development are in progress, nowadays the exploitation and supply of construction material of our country have both been under pressure. Along the Naqian Freeway, there is lack of natural sand and thereby a lot of building sand must be transported from other places that are far away from the construction site. However building stones, especially limestone, are abundant along the Naqian Freeway. So efforts to turn building stones into manufactured sand and then to cut down project cost_are undoubtedly necessary.Being a part of Researches on The Key Constructive Technique of Naqian Freeway in Karst Regions, which are carried out by the transportation department of Sichuan province, this paper aims at knowing the mechanical property as well as the endurance quality of concrete C50 that contains manufactured sand. In this way, whether manufactured sand can be used in the construction of Naqian Freeway and how effective it will be will finally get uncovered.Here are some main achievements of this paper:(1). Conclusions of popular overseas and domestic producing technique of manufactured sand; On-the-spot investigations of aggregate preparation methods performed in contract sections of Naqian Freeway; Analysis of the basic property of manufactured sand produced in the contract sections being investigated and suggestions for technique improvement and better engineering application.(2). Mix designs of concrete C50 and researches on influence factors of the performance of concrete used inengineering practice, such as water-cement ratio, sand ratio, mineral blend composition, rock powder, grain composition and etc.(3). Systematic experiments and researches on the endurance quality of concrete C50; Elaborate analysis of its long-term strength, impermeability, ability to work against circular freezing and thawing, anti-carbonization ability, while applying natural sand, manufactured sand and hybrid sand respectively; Systematic studies of the principles that how the rock powder content influences the endurance quality of concrete C50 consists of manufactured sand and other components.
