With the development of society, the progress of science and technology, the humanity develops the nature and the transformation natural scale enlarges unceasingly. Modern bridge structure develops towards the direction of large-scale and complication. The bridge is being used at this stage; the arch bridge structures occupy a considerable amount. In recent years, the bridge accident frequently, this indicated that in fact the bridge structure also has the inherent drawback frequently, These potential damage or defects are sometimes more dangerous, often resulting in large economic losses. To ensure the safety of people's lives and property, fast and efficient to identify damage that may occur arch bridge location and degree of injury, is the current bridge engineering research hotspot. Development research of damage recognized methods of arch bridge localized, has important significance and value in theory and use.As the structural dynamic properties and structural parameters directly related, structural damage will cause a corresponding change in dynamic characteristics, so, if damage mapping relations between the structure dynamic performance and the structure can be established, then structure vibration modal information can be used to realize the damage location recognition. Currently, domestic and overseas scholars also put forward some bridge structural damage identification methods, but most of these methods are used in simple bridge structure damage recognition research, regarding likely reinforced concrete deck type arched bridge this kind of complex structure, still lack of effective methods.Based on the engineering background of dadu River Bridge, Around the bridge structure damage, Both damage location identification of indicators and sub-regional mode of damage location identification methods was proposed. Numerical simulation of Dadu River Bridge damage recognition was done.Firstly, this paper summarized the bridge of common structural damage identification methods. Dynamic characteristics of damage location was identified by the mode indicators of flexibility difference second derivative. The damage location identification of a reinforced concrete arch bridge is effective according to analyzed result of numerical simulation method. The sub-regional damage location identified methods used in dadu River Bridge with a huge body and a big number of components. Main components are divided into several independent substructures, The complexity structure become a simple ones respectively,each sub-damage location can be identified easily.The research results indicated that the method used is suitable for the defects of Dadu River Bridge. This method can be used into the reinforced concrete deck type arched bridge further.
