On The Landscape Construction Of Waterfront Space In Old City

With the rapid urban development and industrial structure transformation, the cities now face massive reconstruction and regeneration. The urban waterfront region is always one of the cradles of cities, where there are a lot of problems in the urban reconstruction process. At present, it is merely pure demolition and reconstruction, which not only results in the waste of resource and energy but also restricts the orderly urban development. As a result, the urban characteristics are gradually disappearing during such process. This paper elaborated how to use the special waterfront region to build an ideal landscape space for recreation with urban characteristics, meanwhile, regenerate the values of original local history and culture and recover the prosperity of waterfront region. In this way, it can be a new urban waterfront space that can represent urban characteristics and fulfill the demands of its comprehensive development in future.It first expounded the research background, the purpose, its significance, methods, contents and general framework, and defined the objective and scope and applied the theory of reconstruction into waterfront space landscapes, mainly focusing on those that used to be prosperous but degenerated due to urban development and social transformation. Then the research situation in China and abroad was discussed and relevant theories and practices were summarized.Secondly, the old waterfront spaces in the cities of Anhui Province were roughly classified and partially were selected as the representatives for classification, comparison and analysis. landscape construction in the background of old city reconstruction was analyzed from the perspective of how to develop the culture, history and morphology of waterfront space in old city during the process of landscape construction with Binjiang Park in Wuhu City of Anhui Province as an example and how to practice landscape construction based on the reconstruction of old city was discussed. Thus, it obtained the core issues that should be noted during the landscape construction in waterfront space, including the waterfront district in old city where, because of its complex land structure, the integration of landscape design and surrounding land layout as well as its history and culture should be emphasized and rational development and utilization should be implemented to keep its original vigor with new vitality. And the reconstruction of external image and environmental space of waterfront landscapes should be paid more attention in urban waterfront environment. Finally, it was proposed that the waterfront landscape construction in old city should comprehensively focus on these aspects of controlling, restoring and remodeling and corresponding suggestions of landscape implementation strategies were also put forward.The landscape construction projects of waterfront space can ameliorate the ecological environment along the sides, improve the urban life quality, reconstruct beautiful urban landscapes and promote the new investment from other areas so as to create a good social image for the government with more support. In this way, it can promote the development in other parts of this city based on its own advantages and create more employment opportunities, which often can increase urban tax revenue and the tertiary industry.Through controlling and resuming the overall environment of the landscape construction design in waterfront space, the old landscapes can be renewed more scientifically in a sustainable development and the ecosystem can be perfected continuously during the reconstruction as well as the urban waterfront landscape grade, which also refer to a significance of this study.
