| Electric power cable test is an important work in electrical equipment troubleshooting. Firstly, correlation principle to travelling wave fault location of cable is summarized , simulation of cable fault test method is carried out and the change law of fault test signal is analyzed. Secondly, the problem of threshold determination in wavelet threshold de-noising of the test signal is discussed, the de-noising effect of different threshold is compared and a threshold calculation method based on the intersection point of SNR and RMSE proportion curves is proposed. And then two calculation methods of cable fault distance, wavelet analysis and curve fitting is respectively studied, then a new cable fault location method of their combination is proposed and the effectiveness is verified by measured signal. Finally, a system of power cable fault location is put up and program modules such as de-noising and analysis of cable fault signal and calculation of fault distance are realized.
