With the increasing of requirements of dewlling houses an office buildings, people demang larger interior space. There are two questions need to be solved: traditional reinforced concrete beam can not span more than 10 meters without large-sized beam depth. The pipeline including air-conditioning ducts, can not be laid without decreasing storey height. In order to meet the requirements of building function,a new forms of struture,cable-concrete beam, has been put forward by experts. By installation of rigid holding pole and cable on the bottom of beam, the new structure system could effectively reduce the height of the beam, while meeting the requirements of large-span.The structure of cable-concrete beam, composed of cable, the reinforced concrete beam and rigidity pole is a new type of structure, which have metrics of rationally mechanical characteristics, convenience of execution and transportation. And this structure will have great prospect in civil and industrial buildings.Aiming at this new struture, with the help of the existing researching by my teachers and experts, the nonlinear characteristics of cable-concrete beam are study as follow:The non-linear features are analysized with the aid of the finite element analysis software ANSYS. On the basis of numerous calculation cases, summarized the non-linear law, identified non-linear charateristics of reinfored concrete beams, rigid pole and cable, find out the non-linear level above three elements and whole structure.By changing the span and section area of beams and cable, the ultimate bearing capacity of component parts under different parameters was determined to make recommendations for the designers.
