In the actual operation of power plant boiler, air preheater, the key equipment of the boiler system, frequently occurs clogging or leakage fault, affecting the normal operation of the boiler. In order to ensure the boiler unit operation efficiency and security, it demands for fast and accurate to determine air preheater fault for the timely repair faults. At present, relying on the experience of on-site operating personnel to determine the type of subjective fault is still widely used on-site fault diagnosis method. Due to a huge number of boiler units and the sensor signals and kinds of information, we need more information to adopt multi-sensor data fusion to a comprehensive analysis of the fault. This paper introduces the structure of the boiler air preheater and the working principle of a detailed description. And then this paper analysis the mechanism of common faults block of ash, air leakage, etc. of the air preheater. At last we using DS evidence theory based on data fusion method, to found the common faults on the boiler air preheater, through the MATLAB computing procedure.Information fusion results show that evidence theory has a better ability to deal with uncertainty, being able to solve the problem of fault identify of the air preheater.
