Emission reduction of CO2 has attracted vast attention. Chemical looping combustion (CLC) is a promising technology for fossil fuel combustion with CO2 seperation. In CLC process, the oxygen carrier supplies the stoichiometric oxygen for the combustion. The oxygen carrier recirculates between fuel reactor (FR) and air reactor (AR) continuously.High performance in CLC is strongly related to reactor configuration, the specific selected reactor design is very important. A 50kW thermal power parallel fluidized bed (PFB) unit has been designed and built for chemical-looping combustion in this paper. Experiment with oxygen carrier showed that the PFB reactor used for CLC is promising. In the thermal experimental research, the best superficial velocity of FR was in the range of 1.3m/s-1.8m/s, the best superficial velocity of AR was in the range of 0.3m/s-0.5m/s, and the opotimum temperature was 850℃. The operation conditions above promote the reaction of CO and Fe2O3 in FR and increase the oxidization ratio of the deoxidized oxygen carrier in AR.
