The research and design of the intelligent controlling device for vacuum circuit breakers with monostable permanent magnetic mechanism which are applied to distribution is recommended in this paper. The important purpose is to achieve the intelligent protection, remote control and centralize manage of the vacuum circuit breakers. The design of the hardware and the software of the intelligent controlling device.On the premise of introducing the background knowledge of circuit breaker and its control technology and so on, we study and analyze the structure, working principle, static characteristics and dynamic characteristics of monostable permanent magnetic mechanism. This controlling device regards AVR chip ATMEGA16L which ATMEL Company produces as the key processor on the hardware, it is mainly deal with trouble protection in circuit breaker and gathering data in real time. Hardware adopts module design method, gives the overall program, determines the design principles of the MCU and its peripheral function unit as well as the specific circuit of each unit, and then discuss the working principles. The software also adopts the module design method, uses C language and the assembler language to mix programming way, has improved the execution efficiency of giving consideration to the procedure that programming efficiency can be very good. Finally, we give a brief analysis and discussion to both hardware and software for the electromagnetic compatibility problems in our design process.The intelligent controlling device of vacuum circuit breaker we worked out had reached our expectation. It is a reference for further design of the intelligent controlling device of vacuum circuit breaker.
