The Study And Application About Switching Technique Of AFDX

Airborne communication network technology is the hinge and kernel to implement the high-speed, large-volume data exchanges among the avionics systems. The function and performance of the airborne data bus determines the avionics system integration level. Airborne data bus technology is one of the most significant technologies in the advanced avionics system integration of the modern airplane. AFDX(Avionics Full Duplex switched ethernet) is based on IEEE802.3 ethernet rooted from the commercial ethernet network technology, with the advantages of low-cost, high-bandwidth, low-lantency, strong-realtime, high-reliability and etc, the AFDX networks technology has been widely used in the international civil airplanes,eg A380&B7E7.The Switch is at the heart of any aircraft data network which deploy AFDX or ARINC664 switched Ethernet topologies. The AFDX switch provides safe and reliable data exchange interface between the avionics sub-systems and the AFDX networks. Combing with the in-research project, the thesis firstly introduces the AFDX technology, its characteristics, development actuality and illuminates the significance to design AFDX switch IC. Then it all-aroundly introduces the AFDX network, its protocol and the five kernel technologies in AFDX networks. Based on that, combining the foreign products, national AFDX network requirement and AFDX standard protocol, the author designs a type of AFDX switch chip.The thesis fully dissertates the whole design and verification process of the AFDX switch IC. Finally, it introduces the post-tape-out test and verification, the test and verification result indicates that the AFDX network switch IC totally meets the design requirement and achieves one time tape-out success.
