As a novel mechanical and electrical energy conversion device and energy storage device, flywheel battery has many advantages including high specific energy, high power density, quick charging&discharging, small size, long life, without any pollution. Its application involves aerospace, transportation, uninterruptible power supplies(UPS) and so on. For the advantages of no contact, no wear, without lubrication,well performance at high speed and so on. Maglev technology is very suitable for the bearing of flywheel battery. So it is viewed as one of key technologies of maglev flywheel battery, according to the function and the performance characteristic of flywheel battery. Different maglev principles, supporting structures, structural parameters are the key points of the research.Flywheel battery rotor can be divided into axial rotor and discal rotor device according to the size of maglev rotor in axial direction. And focus of research are the bearing principle, supporting structure, choosing structural parameters of the discal maglev flywheel battery.it has great consultant significance for study of the bearing of discal maglev rotor. In this paper, maglev disc system is taken for example, the bearing principle of discal maglev disc system is studied, the mathmatical model is established, the control method is put forward,and the feasibility of control method is verified with experiment, centripetal force and centripetal effect are measured. The influence of structural parameter on bearing characteristic of discal maglev rotor is studied.Based on research of maglev disc system, the bearing structure of discal maglev flywheel rotor is proposed, and the experimental device of maglev flywheel battery is designed. The bearing structure of maglev flywheel battery, the structure of flywheel, the structure layout of the magnetic bearing, and calculation method of magnetic bearing and so on are studied. At last, In allusion to the problems in experiment, the processing tolerance of components and parts, the gas gap of maglev flywheel,the PID parameters of control system are analyzed.
