With the growing of the world energy crisis, and the public demands for improving the ecological environment, wind energy as a clean renewable energy has received the attention of every government. Wind power industry is developing a new industry which has assumed an initial scale. The wind turbin blade is one of the key components of the wind turbine, the quality of the wind turbin blade directly impacts on the efficiency, lifetime and performance of the wind turbine. The wind turbin blade will suffer damage during the course of manufacturing, installation and operating, the crack initiates and expands continually under the action of alternating stress and other factors, this will eventually lead to the blade fracturing and end in a great financial loss to us. Therefore, the detection of the blade crack is especially important.Commonly used detection methods for the blade crack mainly contain complex-type method, potential method, microscope observation, compliance method, etc. They achieve the detection of the crack damage to some extent. However, because it will consume a lot of work to detect the wind turbine blades by adopting the above methods and their efficiency is very low, they can not be effectively applied to the crack detection on the large-scale wind turbine blades.Acoustic emission technology which is a new type of dynamic detecting technology has been widely used in the field of the equipment's nondestructive detecting, it is enormously significant to achieve the purpose of on-line monitoring of the wind turbine blades crack. Therefore, this article aims to study the feasibility of acoustic emission detecting on the wind turbine blade crack, its major research work includes designing the module to extract the acoustic emission signal's feature parameters of wind turbine blade crack and transmissing the collected acoustic emission signal's feature parameters by way of ZigBee wireless communication.
