| Distribution automation system is vital to ensure distribution system reliability, high performance and high power quality, and realizes the power system running safer, steady and economic performance. This paper introduces the content and the development of distribution automation at home and abroad, as well as the significance to implement distribution automation system in a certain County. Then there is a detailed analysis of the technology of feeder automation, communication system, SCADA system, and so on. On this basis, combining with the characteristics and the actual situation of the County distribution network, the paper determines the adopted mode of distribution automation system, the solutions feeder automation and all the necessary function of FTU, communication systems with communications programs, and SCADA system with the various functions required. The distribution quality and reliability win rapidly for the distribution network automated system, and the economic benefit of the electricity supply companies is raised.
