Some wind ductworks are needed to expend on volume capacity in practical engineering. So in this paper, the 3-D numerical simulation of G4-73รขโโ8D centrifugal fan and five other impellers with different splitter blades installed are carried out with Numeca.The thesis seeks to redress the gap of NUMECA applications on internal flow field, responding to those of 3D numerical simulation and flow analysis on G4-73No.8D centrifugal fans. The results show that the jets-wake flows-located at the outlet of centrifugal impeller, is likely to lead to a performance reduction. The present study is devoted to make further investigations on deteriorated fan performance from the jets-wake flows, thus, the numerical simulation on fan with different length of splitter blades was developed. Moreover, the optimized length of additional splitter blades is determined according to the improvement of flow field in the centrifugal fan with additional different splitter blades. Numerical results show that the total pressure increase obviously, the highly effective area is expanded within a narrow range, while the efficiency at working condition tends to be slightly higher.
