It requires us to improve our ability of understanding traditional culture and sense of modern design. The paper summarized an objective analysis of Chinese traditional decorative elements, and explored their use in modern interior design and artistic expression characteristics. Therefore, we should realize that China has a long history of decorative culture which deserves studying and following.Firstly, the thesis macro-explained an overview of Chinese traditional decorative elements including artistic manifestations and heritage features to develop a groundwork of following detailed analysis. What is more, the paper also analyses the trends of modern interior design. It is the pattern that culture calls nature back, which gives an objective analysis of the integration of traditional Chinese elements and their artistic characteristics. The practical and aesthetic values make people pay more attention to and carry forward China's traditional culture.Secondly, the paper micro-described forms and decorative techniques of Chinese traditional decorative elements via summarizing and analyzing them.
