With the development of gas turbine technology, the variable geometry gas turbine has been widely used in different fields because it has higher efficiency and lower fuel consumption at part-load. Thus, the research of the performance and flow to variable geometry gas turbine becomes very necessary. For studying the performance of variable geometry gas turbine, The experiment of variable geometry linear turbine cascades was conducted in the low-speed turbine cascade wind tunnel of SJTU. In the experiment, some aerodynamic parameters were measured in different rotating angles. Due to this, the fluid field and loss of the variable geometry linear turbine cascades were analyzed very carefully.According to the experiment, in this thesis, the numerical simulation was also used to research the flow field of the variable geometry linear turbine cascades. By comparing the results of the numerical computation with the experiment, it showed that the numerical simulation is reliable and then the flow field was also analyzed by this simulation. This analysis included the development of the tip leakage flow, the streamline in the tip gap and the distribution along the flow passage. Finally, different losses was computed from experiment, numerical computation and three classical loss model(Ainley & Mathieson model,Dunham&Came model and Kacker&Okapuu model). By comparing the outcomes, the change of different losses with the rotating angles was researched.
