Matrix Converter (referred to as MC) is one kind of"pure Silicon"Power and new-typeelectric Converter. It has advanced Topology, excellent Control Performance and goodquality. Compared with the traditional power converter, it has a few advantages: the lack ofDC-link; realizing bi-directional power flow, the ability of four quadrant operation; Its inputand loads power factor are respectively independent controllable; it has good characteristicsof the input and output; Without large-capacity storage components, it is able to obtainsinusoidal output voltage and sinusoidal input current; It can take initiative and harmonicsuppression and it makes small harmonic pollution to electric networks. Because of suchadvantages,MChastremendousresearchvalueandbroadapplicationprospects.In this paper, the computer simulation and experimental methods combined to doresearch for double voltage (Line-Line Voltage) control strategy and four stepscommunication strategy of Matrix Converter. This paper proposes an improved doubleline-to-line voltage control strategy. On this condition, MC experimental prototype based onImproved Double Line-to-line Voltage Control Strategy is developed and debuged. In thispaper, workisdoneasfollows:1. This thesis introduced the Matrix Converter's structure and the mathematical modelandtheoperationprinciple. Aimingat realizingtheControl Strategy expedientlyand reliably,this paper proposes an improved double line-to-line voltage control strategy. It simplifiesswitching combinations and infers a unified formula for calculating duty ratio. So theimproved strategy can steadily reduce computational load, facilitate programming andachievement and enhance the efficiency and real-time of the program. Four stepscommunication strategyisalsopresented.2. On the basis of analyzing four steps communication strategy, varying-step four stepscommunication strategy is proposed. Varying-step four steps communication strategydecrease the commutation time to improve the qualityof output waveform.Finally,the paperpresents therealization ofvarying-stepfourstepscommunication strategy.3. The simulation model of MC based on improved double line-to-line voltage wasestablished by MATLAB/Suimlink. Under the balance and nonquilibrium state, the output linear voltage and input current are simulated respectively. Simulation results verifytheoreticalanalysis.4. Thisthesis introduces thehardwareand software designof Matrix Converterbased onDSP.A series of experiments has been made and the experiment results are obtained on theprototypes,whichprovethatthetheoriesand analysisarecorrect.Through the theory analysis, computer simulation and experimental research, this paperdiscussed principal issues of Matrix Converter such as basic principle, commutation strategyand control model etc.Some valuable experiences and conclusions were given in the paper,which havereferencedsignificancetofurtherstudies.
