In recent years, with the microelectronics endless pursuit of performance products,electronic chips continue to become high performance, high-power technology, and ultra-thin, miniature, making less and less effective space for heat dissipation and increasing heat flux. High heat flux cooling of the chip electronic products becomes the key issues in the first overcome. The current cooling demand for electronic products has exceeded the micro-groove and sintered wick heat pipe of diameterφ3-8mm. In this paper, sintered metal fiber has the structural characteristics of three-dimensional porous network structure, high-precision all-connected aperture, high porosity, large surface area. It can effectively overcome the low intensity and withstand high temperatures of porous polymer materials, overcome brittleness and no thermal shock of porous ceramics, the wire mesh's shortcomings of easy to plug and easy to break, brittleness and small flux of sintered powder, not suffering the high temperature but the high pressure of filter cloth. Therefore, the fiber heat pipe study of manufacturing processes has great practical significance.Through the theoretical research of fiber heat pipe wicks, this article directs and improves the design and production of the high-performance fiber heat pipe. The main contents in this paper are as follows:(1) Explore the design parameters of the bare fiber heat pipe. By analyzing the heat pipe heat transfer limits impact of fiber, and their related factors, make the detailed analysis for the impact on the fiber heat pipe and the heat pipe wick design with the main factors (capillary limit and boiling limit).(2)Use multi-tooth cutting tool processing methods to manufacture thin copper fibers, and explore the best processing parameters.(3)Through comparison of experimental and theoretical analysis, optimize the sintered fiber layer parameters and process parameters. This paper detailedly studies the three fiber wick production methods, and their manufacturing effectiveness, does a comparative analysis to the fiber manufacturing process and sintering parameters on fiber properties of sintered heat pipe, come to a more appropriate value and make a preliminary discussion to the heat pipe wick fiber manufacturing. (4)Study fiber heat pipe perfusion and packaging; analyze the influence of various fiber parameters on the temperature, thermal resistance and the limit power. Repeatedly validate to find the optimal fiber heat pipe manufacturing process.(5)Research the impact of different working fluid to heat transfer performance of heat pipe, and find more suitable fluid for high power electronic cooling.
