With the development of urban construction and large-scale industrial and mining enterprises in China, many kinds of concrete structure with ultra-length or ultra-width are getting more and more used. This kind of structure produces cracks easily during the construction process because of drying shrinkage and cooling shrinkage. Domestic and foreign studies indicate that shrinkage-compensating concrete confected with expansive agent or cement can effectively solve the problem of cracks and infiltration about concrete. Recent studies show that this kind of structure can remove after pouring or sew through using shrinkage-compensating concrete. This method can not only shorten the duration but also obtain good effects on waterproof and shockproof. Application of shrinkage-compensating concrete to water storage structure with ultra-length and thin-wall in this article is to study and solve series of key issues of after pouring, performance, strength and durability in this kind of concrete structure during design and construction, to lay necessary theoretical basis and to provide important technical guidance.Analysis on present status of domestic and foreign researches on expansive agent and shrinkage-compensating concrete and on characteristics and deficiencies of common expansive agent is carried out. Compare and choose the expansive agent HEA with double source of expansion. At the same time,choose 4 strengh levels and 12 groups of shrinkage-compensating concrete for tests about the discipline of slump, extended degree, gas content and apparent density in order to guarantee good performance of shrinkage-compensating concrete. Studies on volume of expansive agent to limited expansion and determine the best volume. Testing effects of curing period and water-cement ratio on compressive strength, flexual strength etc. with different volume to guarantee enough strengh level of this kind of structure. Also testing effects on anti-permeability,anti-freeze ability and carbonation resistance. Analyzing the best volume of expansive agent. On the basis of above results and according to real projects, studying and demonstrate the designing plan, the principle, the technique, the feasibility and also the application in engineering.Researches about this article assures the basic law and mechanism of shrinkage compensating concrete in ultra long structure and provides sufficient important basis on criterion of design and construction about this kind of structure, also significance of guidance in similar engineer.
